House of Riddari

About

On the western coast, beyond the Elflands and between icy north and mountains to the south, lay the kingdom of Riddari. It was a land of fierce warriors and skilled hunters, where the people lived in harmony. For generations, the kingdom had been ruled by the wise and just King Ragnar, who had led his people through countless battles and challenges.

But one day, tragedy struck the land. King Ragnar had ventured out on a mission in search of a magic crystal, he nor his accompanying party ever returned. It was feared that he had been kidnapped or killed, by the evil forces that were creeping back into the lands, while seeking to obtain the magic crystal. It is not known if the crystal was found, and he as killed afterwards or if he was killed in search of the crystal.

The kingdom was plunged into chaos as rumors and fears spread throughout the land. The Riddari Knights, descendants of great Viking explorers of the north, were without a leader and were unsure of what to do.

It was then that the young prince, Ragnar's son, stepped forward to take up the mantle of leadership. Though he was just a boy of 16 years, he had been trained in the ways of the kingdom and had always been a quick learner. With a heavy heart, he donned his father's crown and pledged to do whatever was necessary to protect his people and the magic crystal.

But the prince soon realized that he could not do it alone. The evil forces that threatened his kingdom were powerful and numerous, and he needed help to defend against them. He turned to the Knights of Battle, another faction that descended from the great Vikings of the north and offered them an alliance after the period of Darkness ended.

The Knights of Battle were known as the greatest warriors in all the land, but they had suffered significant losses during the time of darkness. Their leader, Dreng the Great, had been defeated by an army of trolls who outnumbered him ten to one. Legend has it that Dreng held the Troll army off long enough for the Crusaders to enact their plan that ultimately defeated the powers of darkness, giving his life in Battle. The remaining Knights of Battle could never serve another leader and therefore made an alliance with the Riddari kingdom so that they could live in peace within the kingdom and in return they would provide additional protection to the land.

The Knights of Battle retained their coat of arms until a siege of darkness from the coast overcame and decimated the Riddari kingdom, leaving only a few Knights of battle alive who were in the more remote parts of the kingdom.

With the Knights of Battle at his side, the young prince rallied the Riddari Knights and other loyal soldiers to his cause. They fortified the borders of the kingdom, set up watchtowers and patrols to keep an eye on any suspicious activity, and trained rigorously to be ready for any potential attack.

But it was not long before the evil forces made their move. A massive army of orcs and goblins marched towards the Riddari kingdom, their eyes fixed on the magic crystal and the power it held.

The prince and his armies stood ready, facing the onslaught with determination and courage. The Knights of Battle charged forward, their weapons glinting in the sun, as the Riddari Knights stood firm with their shields and spears.

The battle was fierce and brutal, with both sides taking heavy losses. But it was clear that the evil forces had the upper hand. The orcs and goblins were relentless, and their sheer numbers overwhelmed the defenders.

As the battle raged on, the young prince fought with all his might, but he soon found himself surrounded by a group of trolls. They were massive and towering, and their roars shook the ground beneath his feet. The prince gritted his teeth and prepared to fight, but he knew that he was outnumbered and outmatched.

Just as he was about to make his final stand, the Knights of Battle appeared out of nowhere, charging towards the trolls with a ferocity that even the creatures had not expected. The Knights fought with an otherworldly strength, their swords and axes cleaving through the trolls' thick hides like butter.

But it was a futile effort. The evil forces were simply too strong, and despite the valiant efforts of the defenders, they were eventually overwhelmed. The Riddari kingdom was destroyed, its people and knights slain, and the magic crystal fell into the hands of the orcs and goblins.

The only ones left standing were the Knights of Battle, who retreated to safety in the remote parts of the kingdom. They mourned the loss of their allies and the fall of the Riddari kingdom, but they knew that they had to carry on. They would continue to fight against the forces of darkness, no matter how hopeless the odds seemed.

And so, the Knights of Battle became a band of wandering warriors, traveling from kingdom to kingdom and fighting against the evil that threatened the land. They became known as the Last Knights, the last remnants of a once-great kingdom and a once-mighty people.
